Professional Experience:
- Currently working as Language Maintainer level 2 (Senior Level) at Red Hat, a Raleigh, NC based multinational company from July 2004. Also working as Indic Language Coordinator for the native-language confederation of OpenOffice.Org.
- Worked as cultural and literary representative and content coordinator for Literate World, Inc for Hindi language, a California based multilingual literary portal (www.literateworld.com , now not active as literary portal) from May 2001.
- Worked as a cultural correspondent of reputed Hindi Daily Jansatta (Indian Express Group) from March 2000.
- Worked for an educational current affairs magazine for three years as part time contributor (1996 - ’98). Also freelanced in this period for Hindi dailies.
- Experience of teaching mass-communication in Hindi Academy, Delhi.
- Freelanced extensively particularly for Outlook Hindi Weekly.

Achievements:
- Selected for a global team of Red Hat Brave New World that works crossfunctionally and globally on key Red Hat opportunities and issues. Attended a conference at Red Hat Headquarter Raleigh, NC.
- Started and lead a project Fuel for the standardization and consistency of localization of computer software.
- In July 2004, I joined Red Hat as a Language Maintainer, Hindi at Red Hat. During last three years I translated Fedora, Gnome, Open Office and Firefox & Thunderbird and also IRC in Hindi. Additionally I am working as the Indic Coordinator of Native Language Confederation of an open source project OpenOffice.org. Apart form this I am the maintainer of Fedora and looking after co-ordination of Mozilla Hindi also.
- I wrote articles like Localisation as a movement in India (Red Hat Magazine) and The 'Open' Tower of Babel (Linux for You, Feb 2007 issue).
- Participated in the Indic Meet on localization of open source software conducted by Indlinux.
- Represented Hindi in a workshop conducted by C-DAC for the construction of How to Guide to Localization.
- Given presentation for the Hindi version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux at Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow and Bhopal in the launch function of RHEL4. Given demonstration of Hindi version of Red Hat in Linux Asia 2005 conducted in February 2005 in New Delhi at India Habitat Center.
- Literate world, Inc was a multilingual portal (Now not active as a literary portal but I still have all the content of the site with me) and I joined this organization as a founder member. I was managing all the contents and matters for the Hindi section of this site—including conceptualizing, writing and supervising. For the last four years before joining Red Hat, I had covered almost all the cultural and literary and language related events including interviews of more than fifty literary luminaries. I had also done some of the interviews for the English section of www.literateworld.com. In its active phase, this site became most popular literary portal in Hindi.
- While in Literate World, I coordinated several special issues on various subjects, Harivansha Ray Bachchan, Hans, Kaifi Azmi, NRI writings in Hindi etc. After the death of great poet Harivansha Ray Bachchan, within two days Literate World published an issue. Mr Amitabh Bachcha (son of the poet and veteran thespian of Indian cinema sent me a appreciation card signed by all his family). I conducted a few literary surveys which were very unique and pioneering of its kind.
- The Hindi Daily Jansatta has a special interest in cultural reporting and I had written several important reports for this daily. During this period, I attended all events related to Hindi language and literature. In this way, I built rapport with most of the important personality of Hindi language. Apart from this, I have good understanding of socio-political background of Hindi language.
- I had done Special Interviews with Nirmal Verma, Basu Chatterji, Navneeta Dev Sen, Rajendra Yadav, Gopi Chanda Narang, Ashok Vajapayee, Kameleshwar, Manglesh Dabral, Imre Bangha, Selina Thielemann, Varranikov, Vishnu Prabhakar, Bhishma Sahani, Manager Pandey, Vishwanath Tripathi, Arun Prakash, Pankaj Bisht, Ashraf Shad, Padma Sachdev, Mridula Garg, Ashraf Shad, Maitreyi Pushpa, Satyen Sharat, Gagan Gill, Ramdarash Mishra, Vishnu Chandra Sharma and many more.
Publication:
- Prepared a course for Localization Team of Red Hat for Red Hat University, an internal portal for training and development of employees.
- Computer English-Hindi Glossary.
- Wrote detailed paper on the subject Technical Translation: Beyond Technicalities for the translators of Red Hat.
- Writing the biography of the eminent Hindi writer Shailesh Matiyani.
- Kramashah – a one time magazine published on the inauguration of Literate World in India (Delhi). This was a complementary issue in print for the portal. Content wise my contribution was very important for this magazine and this magazine was widely appreciated in the literary and academic circle.
- My interview and Talk published in Hindi newspaper and magazine.
Awards:
- Got two Red Hat Rewards. One for wrting articles for Open Sourse World and second for writig a training course for localization team of Red Hat.
- First prize winner in a national level essay competition conducted by Press Council of India, New Delhi.
- Special Prize winner in a national level essay competetion conducted by UNFPA and Unnati Features.
- Third prize winner in a state level essay competition conducted by Vigyan Kendra, Patna.
